Dispatches from the End of Ice

Beth Peterson, Associate Professor of Writing, published Dispatches from the End of Ice. Shortly after Beth Peterson moved to a village on the edge of Europe's largest glacier, things began to disappear, including a professor, a friend, and the glacier itself. Set against the backdrop of a changing climate, Dispatches asks why these losses matter, and also, what can still be found. Click here to learn more about this book.

W. K. Kellogg Foundation Gift

GVSU is expanding in Battle Creek, thanks to a $10.3 million gift from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. The grant enables Grand Valley to serve Battle Creek area residents through three main areas: increasing access to GVSU degrees and certificates by offering programs at the Kendall Center, growing the food innovation economy, and investing in an aging workforce and new industry opportunities. Congratulations to all who participated in this effort, including Chief Executive of GVSU Omni Kara Van Dam and Southwest Michigan Director Al Shifflett, University Development's Director of Foundation Relations Ken Zahrt and Specialist for Foundation Relations Allison Ribick, and the Office of Sponsored Programs' Director Kim Squiers. Check out the GVNext Article for more information.
