KU will have a new vendor for hourly parking payments beginning Feb. 28 |
Jayhawks,
KU students, faculty, staff and visitors will soon have new options when paying for parking on the KU Lawrence campus. A transition from ParkMobile to HONK as our mobile payment vendor brings with it the option of paying for hourly parking using Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, in addition to a credit card.
Beginning Feb. 28, hourly parking in Yellow zones and campus garages will be paid through HONK. ParkMobile will no longer be accepted for hourly parking after this date. Existing ParkMobile users are encouraged to download the HONK app prior to Feb. 28 to ensure they can continue paying for hourly parking.
|
There are two ways to pay for hourly parking with HONK: |
Option 1: Pay with the HONK App (account required) |
-
Download the HONK app from Apple or Google Play
- Create your account
-
Enter your license plate number and payment information (e.g., credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal)
- Start your parking session
- Extend your session remotely (where permitted) through the app
- Save your favorite parking locations/zones for even faster future payments
|
Option 2: Guest Checkout (Scan and pay. No app required.) |
-
Scan the QR code posted on campus parking signs
- Enter your license plate number and payment information (e.g., credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal) in your mobile browser
- Start your parking session
- Extend your session remotely (where permitted) using your confirmation link
|
- Simple, contactless payment options
- Real-time session management and (opt-in) for text reminders to remotely add more time
- Multiple payment methods, including major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal
-
Customer support is available directly through the HONK website
-
Technical support is available in the app, by email at support@honkmobile.com, or honkmobile.com
|
Note: This change does not affect parking payment options off campus. The City of Lawrence will continue using ParkMobile for mobile payments.
For questions regarding the transition or parking on campus, please contact KU Transportation Services at kupark@ku.edu or 785-864-7275.
Respectfully,
Quiz
