5 Things to Know This Week at LOYNO
August 17, 2026

Happy Monday, Wolf Pack!

Here are your 5 Things to Know for this week!

1. Spanish Mass & Rosary Service

On Tuesday at 6 pm, the Catholic Student Community invites everyone to our first Spanish Mass of the year in the Chapel of St. Ignatius, celebrating the feast day of Saint Alberto Hurtado, a Chilean Jesuit priest known for his engagement with Chilean culture and his work with young adults and the poor. Prior to the Spanish Mass, there will be a Rosary Service for the earthquake victims in Venezuela and Colombia. There will be free food after the Mass. You do not need to be Catholic or speak Spanish to attend. For questions or accommodations, email Fr. Mark Mossa, S.J., at mmossa@loyno.edu.

2. Campus Rec Intramural Sign-Ups

Get your teams together and sign up for Intramurals this semester. You can sign up as an individual, or as a team for each sport. The schedule for this fall will be soccer on Mondays. Tuesdays will be volleyball, and basketball on Wednesdays. Intramurals will begin on August 31st. Click here to sign up or look for Campus Rec in the Peace Quad on Wednesday, August 19th, from 12-1:30 pm. For questions or accommodations, email Jason Eyanson, Coordinator of Campus Recreation, at jeyanson@loyno.edu.

3. Sorority Recruitment

Interested in finding your community and getting more involved at Loyola? Sign up for College Panhellenic Council (CPC) Primary Sorority Recruitment! Recruitment is a great way to meet new people, explore leadership and service opportunities, and learn more about Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta and Theta Phi Alpha. Click here to register! For questions or accommodations, email getinvolved@loyno.edu.

4. Iggy's Cupboard: Free Resources for Students

Did you know Loyola students have access to Iggy’s Cupboard, our on-campus food pantry? Iggy’s provides free food, personal care items, and other essentials to help support students. Stop by when you need something or learn more about how you can support the Cupboard through donations. Iggy’s is here for the Wolf Pack! If you have any questions or need accommodations, email Dr. Lindy Brasher, University Minister for Social Justice, at lmbrashe@loyno.edu.
