Dear Eagle Nation:
Last week, I enjoyed another great Talon Talk led by student moderator and member of the Coppin Volleyball, Mimi Coleman. The conversation had a distinctly Maryland flavor, featuring foods paired with Old Bay.

As usual, our students asked fantastic questions focused on the quality of life of students here on campus, and opportunities we have to enhance their education, their holistic development, and experiences outside of the classroom.

We also covered a number of great things on the horizon for Coppin, including the development of a Master of Social Work to Doctor of Social Work program currently under development, the opening of the Mill on North Food Hall, and the array of opportunities available for students to stay connected to Coppin once they become alumni.

As we close out Black History Month this week, let us continue to celebrate all that is possible because of the sacrifices of those who came before us. Let us carry their tenacity, their dignity, and joy forward, and let us celebrate the excellence coming from Coppin, and our fellow HBCUs. Remember, we are writing a new chapter of  history, together, in this moment.
