Dear Eagle Nation:
We continue our mission to Expand Eagle Nation, by using every tool at our disposal to reduce barriers and increase opportunities for everyone to receive a quality, affordable education.
Last week, my team and I traveled to Denver, Colorado to sign the first transfer agreement for our university outside of the state of Maryland. The agreement affords students who complete their associate degree within the Colorado Community College System (CCCS), guaranteed admission to partner universities, and under our Expand Eagle Nation Initiative, those students will pay in-state tuition once they enroll at Coppin State.

As Maryland’s most affordable four-year university, students from Colorado would be able to pay less for tuition, than at any of the four-year institutions in their home state.
We know that students come to Coppin State from around the world to study, reach their full potential, and build the lives they dream of, while enjoying an incredible urban HBCU experience. I met several scholars from Colorado who said their dreams of studying at an HBCU are now within reach thanks to the Expand Eagle Nation initiative.
I also enjoyed opportunities to visit and tour several of the CCCS campuses, and meet the bright scholars that could help transform our university community as much as we are able to transform their lives and circumstances.
This partnership with CCCS is exciting and creates a pathway that allow more scholars access to our nationally recognized healthcare, business, social science, and STEM programs. We are looking forward to expanding our partnerships and our reach in the months and years to come.
