February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about heart disease, how to prevent it and to work to save more lives.
- History: President Lyndon B. Johnson first proclaimed February as American Heart Month in 1964, and U.S. presidents have continued to do so every year since.
- Goal: To encourage people, especially women, to focus on their heart health.
- Resources: The CDC, American Heart Association, and other organizations provide resources and tips to help people prevent heart disease.
