As part of the Colloquium Philosophy Series, Judy Whipps is coming to GVSU to discuss the history of civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune. All students are welcome to learn about this political reformer who made a lasting impact during the Civil Rights Movement. 

Gamers... are you ready for the chance of a lifetime? You have the opportunity to participate in the biggest esports event in West Michigan history, hosted at GVSU’s own Grand Rapids campus this November! Featuring brackets in Smash Bros, Street Fighter 6, Splatoon 3, and more, there’s something for everyone. Competition is traveling from as far out as Japan. Registration closes November 17, so be sure to sign up early!

Campus Connections

The Wear the Rainbow clothing pop-up shop is popping up on the City Campus! This FREE event allows students to participate in gender-affirming workshops while finding their new fave fashions. Donations for the event will be accepted from Oct. 20 to Nov. 12.

If you’re a student in need of service hours or want to learn more about local nonprofits, come to Drop-in Days of Service. 

WGVU will be hosting a book swap event open to the whole community! Come down to Küsterer Brauhaus with two to four books in good condition. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and find your next favorite read.
