We recently celebrated the opening of the new Siteman Ambulatory Cancer building. This is a beautiful new patient centered space which provides multidisciplinary cancer care with lots of windows, spacious waiting and exam areas and all private chemotherapy infusion rooms. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do stop by. This extraordinary new space allows us to deliver exceptional cancer treatment and provide cutting edge clinical trials for our patients.
You may have noticed updates across our social media platforms as we align with WashU Medicine’s new rebranding efforts. The goal is to better support key strategic initiatives by strengthening our brand recognition in a more consistent way. Our Divisions have now adopted new WashU Med branding on their social media accounts. Please make sure to use the updated handles when sharing awards, events, research, and other notable achievements.
In this edition, our DOM Spotlight shines on Dr. Leslie Gewin, Associate Professor of Nephrology and the impactful research she and her team are doing on kidney injury and defense mechanisms. Their work is aimed at promoting kidney repair and preventing the progression of fibrosis, an area of research with significant clinical implications.
Don’t forget to visit the DOM website regularly for updates on division news and to stay connected with our DOM social channels. We also encourage you to use the Success Spotlight to share your achievements—whether in awards, publications, research, education, or clinical work—with our Marketing team so we can help highlight your accomplishments.
As always, thank you for your support of the Department of Medicine.
Vicky Fraser, MD, Adolphus Busch Professor of Medicine, Chair, Department of Medicine
