JUNE 2025

INTRODUCING THE BADGER CROP NETWORK!
The Badger Crop Network is a NEW, one-stop shop for Wisconsin farmers to access all the up to date research and crop production resources they need to be on the cutting edge. The site is now the home to Cool Bean (Dr. Shawn Conley - soybeans), WiscWeeds (Dr. Rodgrigo Werle - weed management), WiscBadgerCorn (Dr. Harkirat Kaur - corn) and Badger Crop Doc (Dr. Damon Smith - disease).
Badger Crop Network will highlight information from each researcher in a familiar format through blog posts, social media posts and sharing of research papers and content on pages of the website.

MANAGING INTERNAL PARASITES IN CATTLE
Gastrointestinal parasites, also known as helminths, nematodes or stongyles, deprive cattle of nutrients and can reduce milk production and daily weight gain. Deworming is beneficial for beef and dairy operations, provided it is done correctly with effective products. However, due to anthelmintic resistance, relying solely on dewormers is insufficient.
