The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a major rewrite of the Uniform Guidance, the set of common rules of federal grantmaking for nonprofits, governments, and more. These revisions address longstanding problems, advance equity by making grants accessible to more nonprofits, and make other changes that will reduce bureaucratic barriers and costs in seeking, performing, and reporting on grants using federal funds.
The networks of the National Council of Nonprofits are hosting a special, nationwide free webinar, OMB Uniform Guidance: What the Updates Mean for Nonprofits, on Thursday, May 30 at 3:30 – 4:30 pm Eastern to make sure charitable nonprofits know about the significant improvements to the Uniform Guidance, and what the changes mean for their missions.

Sycamore to Serve as Tennessee's New Home for KIDS COUNT®
|
Beginning this year, the Sycamore Institute will become the new Tennessee base for KIDS COUNT®, a program of the Annie E. Casey Foundation that collaborates with a designated partner in each state. This collaboration will enable Sycamore to enhance its focus on delivering data-driven insights and analysis concerning children and youth issues within the state.
As a recipient of the KIDS COUNT grant, the Sycamore Institute will produce research and analysis on matters affecting the health and well-being of young people in Tennessee. For instance, in 2024, the Institute plans to continue highlighting the current state of children's mental health in Tennessee, including ongoing prevention and treatment initiatives, and the potential challenges and opportunities for enhancement. Additionally, each year, the Sycamore staff will maintain and update metrics related to the health and well-being of children in Tennessee in the national KIDS COUNT database.
