Plan your public outreach for September Recovery Month!
Public Outreach Posters:
The Origin Story!
|
The Al‑Anon public outreach poster templates available on the WSO website are based on an original poster depicting a woman holding a child trapped in a bottle. The WSO created the current templates after several Areas asked about making the poster widely available.

Add Al‑Anon Faces Alcoholism to Your Public Outreach Toolkit |
Planning to do some Twelfth‑Step work in September? Recovery is celebrated during September in both the United States and Canada, and local events could benefit from Al‑Anon participation.
Al‑Anon Faces Alcoholism (AFA) is the public outreach magazine of Al‑Anon Family Groups, which introduces those affected by the family disease of alcoholism to Al‑Anon and Alateen through sharings from members, basic information about our program, and articles by Al‑Anon‑friendly professionals.

Empowering College Students: Bringing Al-Anon to Campus |
Many students face the stresses of school without a strong family support system, especially those dealing with a loved one’s alcoholism. By providing Al‑Anon materials to college wellness and counseling centers, participating in events on campus, and sharing resources with faculty and staff, we can reach those in need.
Together, let’s offer understanding and Al‑Anon tools to support young people on their recovery journey. Consider using the Meeting on Wheels Guideline (G‑22) to engage with trade schools, colleges, and universities in your community.

Walking the Walk:
Speaking Step Twelve into Action |
“Actions speak louder than words,” a phrase ingrained in me since childhood, has seamlessly transitioned into my Al‑Anon program, emphasizing the importance of moving beyond mere talk and embracing the opportunity to walk the walk…”
