GO AHEAD, SAY IT:
“TODAY’S THE DAY!”
IT WILL WORK FOR YOU TOO!
| |
TODAY'S THE DAY!
You and Mel Fisher probably have a lot in common.
He was hardworking, goal-focused, and had a dream he refused to give up on. You went into business, worked hard for 30 years, and dreamed of owning a yacht someday.
Mel Fisher spent 17 years searching for sunken treasure. Every morning before he and his crew left the dock, Mel would get on the radio and announce:
“TODAY'S THE DAY!”
And on July 20, 1985, it finally was!
Mel and his team discovered the legendary Spanish treasure ship Nuestra Señora de Atocha, which sank off the Florida Keys in 1622 carrying an enormous fortune in gold, silver, and emeralds.
The treasure was valued at more than $400 million.
Think about that. Seventeen years of searching, setbacks, legal battles, and even personal tragedy. But Mel never stopped believing. Every morning, he could see his success clearly in his mind. He sent that vision out into the Universe.
They call it the Law of Attraction. Mel certainly believed in it, and so do I.
If you can clearly picture yourself aboard your own yacht, somewhere in the world, living the life you've always dreamed about, don't give up on that vision.
One of the things I've always enjoyed about boat shows is meeting people who aren't ready to buy a yacht today, but who come to be inspired. They walk through the boats, imagine themselves at the helm, picture their families aboard, and dream about the places they'll go.
Someday, some of them will be back as owners.
That's why, at the Hargrave display, you'll often see young people being given a guided tour, usually just of the main deck. We're not expecting them to buy a yacht today!
We're helping inspire the next generation of yacht owners. After all, every yacht owner started with a dream.
And who knows? One of those young visitors might walk back onto a Hargrave ten or twenty years from now and say:
“TODAY'S THE DAY!”
A GREAT STORY WORTH WATCHING
If you're too young to remember Mel Fisher and the discovery of the Atocha, here's a fascinating documentary about his remarkable adventure on YouTube.
You can open the link now and save it to watch later on your television.
And if you're visiting the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show this weekend, stop by and see us at Hargrave.
Whether you're ready to buy a yacht or just beginning to dream about one, you're welcome.
Because every great adventure starts with a dream.

GUESS WHO CAME TO DINNER?
THEY ALL SHOWED UP
THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE
| |
“EVERYONE” WAS THERE!
The Past, the Present, and the Future all came together Thursday evening at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club for our annual Hargrave Owners' Dinner.
And what an evening it was!
THE PAST was represented by the remarkable 37-year legacy of Jack Hargrave, the greatest powerboat designer of his generation. I was amazed at how many people I spoke with that evening had owned a Hatteras designed by Jack. Even I owned a brand-new 38' Hatteras convertible back in the mid-1970s!
That extraordinary chapter in our history is what we call Hargrave 1.0.
THE PRESENT was certainly there in force, with so many owners who have built one or more Hargrave Custom Yachts joining us to celebrate our 30th anniversary. For three decades, we've been building custom yachts exclusively for American yachtsmen and women, and the relationships we've developed along the way are something very special.
One gentleman at the dinner had built FIVE Hargrave yachts with us!
That's the chapter we call Hargrave 2.0.
But what encouraged me most was that THE FUTURE was there too!
Hargrave 3.0 represents our commitment to the next 30 years, and I told everyone that the shift is underway and we're now laser-focused on the future.
I explained that I believe virtually everything in the yachting industry will change dramatically over the next five years. How yachts are designed, built, serviced, managed, crewed, and insured. Everything!
The technology, the business models, the way people use their yachts, and even the way they acquire them will be radically different from what we've known.
But one thing will never change.
Our Hargrave owners will still be sitting on the aft deck of their yachts, surrounded by family and friends, creating those wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime memories on the water.
That's what this business has always been about, and that's what it will always be about.
I was particularly excited when I told our guests that Hargrave 3.0 isn't just an idea or some new concept we're talking about.
IT'S ALREADY WELL UNDERWAY!
And here's something that made the evening especially meaningful to me. One of the Hargrave owners sitting right there in the audience helped us create this exciting new vision for the future.
Think about that. After 30 years of building yachts for our owners, one of those very owners is now helping us shape the next 30 years of Hargrave.
The Past gave us our foundation. The Present gave us our success. And the Future may be the most exciting chapter of all!

WHAT IS THE BEST DEAL ANYWAY?
Usually, people think this is just a low price but it's a combination of three things - the price, the condition, and an educated seller.
To be on our Best Deals Page the boat has to meet all three requirements.
