Dear Colleagues,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent feedback on performance conversations. We heard you, and as a result, we are making some changes to better reflect the needs and rhythms of our community. Your thoughtful engagement continues to shape a process that is both responsive and supportive.

As a reminder, these conversations are an opportunity to celebrate what is going well, identify areas that may need extra attention, and make adjustments to stay on track.

What’s Changing:

1. We are moving from requiring four formal conversations to two formal conversations per year.

2. We will also have two optional check-ins.  Please note, the check-ins are required if a rating is or may be a 1 or 2, AND it is highly encouraged to complete the required and recommended conversations for all employees.

See below for a visual representation of the conversations and check-ins.

3. We have scheduled the conversations in line with our semester cadence to better align with the academic calendar.

4. We are extending the final conversation period to five weeks instead of four weeks to offer greater flexibility.

Training to Support You:
To ensure everyone feels confident and prepared for these conversations, we will be offering in-person training sessions. We highly recommend attending a session.
