The Chaldean Language Workshop will offer free Chaldean language instruction together with introductory medical terminology and practical healthcare communication support beginning Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Oakland Center Ambassador Rooms A&B.
The healthcare component will introduce students to common words and expressions involving body parts, symptoms, illnesses, treatments, medicines, and basic patient-family communication. Arabic will also be included for every medical terminology and clinical conversations. This is an educational language and cultural communication program and is not formal medical interpretation, interpreter certification, or clinical training.

The program is free. Oakland University students and alumni may participate in person, and non-OU participants may attend online through Discord.
