It's going to be very hot this weekend, and all summer long, so please be properly prepared for your market trip! Here are some tips:
Wear sunscreen, and bring a hat and/or umbrella. Our Bell market takes place entirely outdoors, but we do have a seating area with umbrellas and plenty of shade from surrounding trees. Shoppers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas if you'd like to hang out for a little while! If you forget your hat, we have TFM hats for sale at our info booth or online.
Hydrate! Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your market visit. We try to keep the use of plastics to a minimum at our markets, however we do have some vendors who have bottled water available for purchase such as K&S Seafood, Yegua Creek Farms, and Simple Promise Farms. There are water fountains located inside the pavilion at Mueller where you can refill your reusable water bottles.
Protect your pup's feet! The pavement can get very hot during summer months! Protect your pet's paws with booties, bring them in a backpack carrier or wagon during the summer months, or leave them at home (even though we will miss their little faces very much).
Cool off in the splash pad at Mueller. We're lucky to be adjacent to the Mary Elizabeth Branch Park at Mueller, which has a large splash pad area for the public to enjoy.
Freeze your compost prior to dropping it off at Bell! This helps significantly cut back on odors during steamy summer months.
