Dear Members of the UNCG Community,
As announced on October 16, 2023, UNCG has discontinued support for Zoom service as of December 31, 2023. This change includes the termination of the Canvas Zoom integration, the use of UNCG credentials in the free version of Zoom, and the conclusion of Information Technology Services (ITS) support for Zoom. All courses are required to use Microsoft Teams for virtual class sessions and meetings.
Zoom is no longer included in the University's list of pre-approved software. Consequently, departments will be unable to utilize University funds to purchase Zoom licenses for their area's use.
We welcome faculty and staff to take advantage of fifteen-minute one-on-one consultations for Teams with our knowledgeable technology consultants. These personalized sessions provide a hands-on opportunity to familiarize yourself with Microsoft Teams, including tasks like muting and unmuting participants, managing raised hands, screen sharing, enabling others to share content, and adjusting settings during class sessions and meetings. During these consultations, we encourage you to ask any additional questions you may have. Our dedicated team is here to provide you with the support and guidance you need.
