Goodpasture Hall

Jonathan Rauch, author of Cross Purposes, asserts that the religion of mainline Christianity (the Presbyterian Church in the US and others) has become ’too thin to provide meaning and morals to the culture and thus to reliably support a democratic society’. We will discuss Rauch’s assertion and his suggestions for addressing the apparent dysfunction in our society and its current government. Rauch, a life-long atheist, says: ‘Don’t be afraid. Imitate Jesus.’

Join other women in the Café where you can fill your coffee cup, enjoy a tasty homemade goodie, then gather around to fill your spiritual cup. We will revisit the previous Sunday’s scriptures, reflect on the sermon, and discuss the probing questions in the bulletin.

Vox Grata Concert

7:30 p.m. • Westminster Pesbyterian Church

“Iconic: Timeless Works for Women’s Chorus” celebrates the enduring beauty of repertoire written expressly for women’s voices.

Featuring music by Brahms, Poulenc, Rheinberger, and Holst, this program highlights the clarity, warmth, and distinctive color of the Treble choir.

With the luminous sound of harp woven throughout the program, each work unfolds with added depth and shimmer. Rooted in tradition yet alive in the present moment, this is a program that lets these iconic works speak fully, just as they were meant to be heard.

A free will offering taken at the concert will benefit Nashville LAUNCHPAD, a nonprofit dedicated to creating safe spaces that affirm the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ young adults.
