UT System Backs First UTA West Building
|
The University of Texas System Board of Regents has approved funding for the first building at UTA West, a major milestone that cleared the way for construction to begin.
The vote advances phase two of the project, following last year’s approval of funding for infrastructure work such as utilities, site preparation, and parking to support the initial facility and future expansion.
"This first building represents more than a physical structure—it reflects our commitment to expanding access to high-quality education, strengthening the regional workforce, and growing alongside the communities of West Fort Worth and Parker County," said Wayne Atchley, vice president of regional campuses.
The new campus builds on UTA’s longstanding partnership with Fort Worth that started in 1986 with the establishment of the UTA Research Institute and continued with the opening of the downtown Fort Worth Center and the Institute of Urban Studies.
