Spotlight: Dissertation Writers Retreat Summer 2025 |
|
|
Earlier this summer, from June 2–6, the Writing Studio hosted thirty graduate students from twenty programs for our annual week-long Summer Dissertation Writers Retreat, which one participant described as "among the best parts of Vanderbilt." It's certainly one of the best parts of our year at the Writing Studio!
The summer retreat brought together participants from all across campus: Students from Economics, Anthropology, and Earth and Environmental Sciences gathered alongside others from Biomedical Engineering and Special Education, just to name a few.
Designed to foster productivity, accountability, and community, the retreat saw participants make progress on significant pieces of scholarship: articles, dissertation chapters, and even defense drafts turned in by the end of the retreat!
Our annual three-part Dissertation Writers Retreat series is made possible with the generous sponsorship of the Graduate School, the College of Arts and Science Dean's Office, and the BRET Office of Career Development ASPIRE Program.
