A new custom-made Buddhist Puja cabinet for our communal practices in Cannon Chapel is also in its final stages of completion. It will house our large Buddha statue which also arrived from Sri Lanka last year, donated by an Emory Buddhist alum.
Recent and upcoming projects for Buddhist Life include cleaning the Living Mandala Garden on September 15 at 2:00 p.m. and visiting Drepung Loseling Monastery on September 29 at 4:00 p.m. We are also working on adding a wooden path around the Living Mandala.
Earlier in August, we had great opportunities to connect students with the Buddhist resources on and off campus. We took a group of first-years from our Welcoming Interfaith and Spiritual Exploration (WISE) Pre-Orientation program to Kim Cang Monastery for a Buddhist meditation and learning experience. Students were also greatly appreciative that several of our Emory Buddhist studies faculty visited EBC during a Thursday meditation to share about the Buddhist resources available on campus.
As the community keeps expanding, we are also looking to find creative ways of supporting the growing interest in Buddhism. Your support is crucial in ensuring the flourishing of Buddhist Life at Emory. We invite you to please support the various important needs of Emory’s Buddhist Life by
making a gift as we start the year, or participating in Emory's Giving Week on October 30 to November 3.
Thank you for your continuous support and interest in Buddhist Life at Emory. May you and yours stay well and safe.
With Mettā (loving-kindness),
Venerable Priya Rakkhit Sraman
