| Enrollment grows in key workforce fields

UTA continues to attract students seeking a quality education and world-class research opportunities in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth. UTA’s year-over-year overall enrollment increased for spring 2025, with significant gains in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, College of Science, and the School of Social Work, according to preliminary data.

AI research to enhance nuclear plant control systems
|
UTA’s Computer Science and Engineering Department has received a $450,000 gift to fund research aimed at creating improved processes for developing, testing, and validating nuclear plant control systems. Yonghe Liu, an associate professor of computer science and engineering, will lead the team exploring how artificial intelligence can reduce labor and time demands.

UTA graduates who minored in disability studies will discuss how their internships helped them get a job Tuesday, Feb. 18, 12:30-2 p.m. in Room 109 of the Central Library. Snacks and drinks will be provided for student attendees.

Celebrate the new Fraternity and Sorority Life Community Center at a ribbon cutting open to the campus community Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m., at the renovated facility, located at 1111 Greek Row Drive in Arlington. The revitalized facility will create a new entrance for Greek Row and bring together 30 different organizations from around campus. RSVP to attend.

Recruit underclassmen, graduating seniors, graduate students, and alumni for full-time positions, part-time positions, co-ops, and internships at the All Majors Job and Internship Fair. More than 1,000 students and alumni are expected to attend the job fair, set for Wednesday, March 5, 12-4 p.m., in the Maverick Activities Center. Registration ends Wednesday, Feb. 19.
