The students found the experience especially relevant for this time in history. Here are some observations:
“It really challenges all of us, even the judges, to think more about what’s going on currently. This forced me to learn about what my rights as an American citizen are, and that’s going to help me say what I believe in more articulately.” Akeem Griffin ‘26
“It was a validation that what we’re learning in class is real, advanced, and important. All the judges were impressed by our depth of knowledge. It reminded me that DLSNC is pretty rigorous.” Mekhi Gardner ‘26
“The competition was an opportunity for growth in confidence and public speaking practice. Not a lot of people take the time to learn about the Constitution, and I think that knowledge is going to help me navigate through life.” Sylena Kennedy ‘26
