As the spring semester seems to fly by faster than the flowers bloom on College Green, we are reminded just how quickly another academic year is coming to a close. It’s already been an eventful one for Housing and Residence Life and we are excited to share what is ahead.
Below, you will find ways to stay connected and celebrate your Bobcat pride: support our students through Giving Day, get the latest updates on McDavis Hall (our newest residence hall), and make plans to return to campus for Back on the Bricks this July. We’re also sharing a special BOGO night opportunity as part of the Brew Trail festivities and a save-the-date for the opening of our Distinguished Alumni Award nomination process this summer.
Whether you’re near Athens or cheering us on from afar, thank you for remaining such an important part of our Housing and Residence Life community.

Final stretch for McDavis Hall |
|
|
Excitement is building on South Green as McDavis Hall enters the final phase of construction. We are just weeks away from furniture installation and beginning preparations to welcome students home in August.
The new residence hall is divided into two sections. McDavis South will house approximately 294 returning students who selected their rooms in March, eager to be among the first to live in our newest community. McDavis North will welcome about 295 incoming first-year students, who will select their spaces in May.
We look forward to celebrating this milestone with a formal grand opening in September, complete with tours and opportunities to connect with the building’s first residents. McDavis Hall is more than a new facility. It is the next chapter of community on South Green.

Three experts. One inaugural year. |
|
|
This spring, Housing and Residence Life proudly welcomed three Experts in Residence for the inaugural year of our Expert in Residence (EIR) program.
Launched in partnership with the Honors Tutorial College, the program connects students with accomplished alumni, executives or industry leaders from a wide range of fields. By bringing real-world expertise directly into the residential and academic experience, our Experts in Residence engage students through hands-on experiences that complement classroom learning and support professional growth.
From candid career conversations to interactive sessions and mentorship opportunities, the impact has been immediate and meaningful. A huge thank you to Robb Roby '94, Sarah Green '15 and Seth Miller '14 for their commitment and impact during this inaugural year. Their willingness to invest time, share expertise and mentor the next generation of Bobcats has made a lasting difference.
