“If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” —Sandy Dahl, wife of United Flight 93 Pilot Jason Dahl
The resilience of Americans became apparent during the aftermath of the horrific September 11 tragedy. We will never forget how those events made us feel, their impact on our society, and the incredible bravery of our country's men and women that was shown that day and every day after.
Subsequent global and American adversities, including the most recent tragedies here among our Memphis community, test that same resiliency of American spirit. We learn from each healing process that we are safer and stronger together.
Please take a moment this Sunday on Patriot Day, September 11, to reflect on our past and present challenges, and the power of human solidarity that defines our great nation.
Never forget.
