Purchase a $10 ticket to the UTA Department of Music gala concert set for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts. Participants in the gala will include UTA Jazz faculty, guests, UTA String and Jazz Studies programs, UTA A Cappella Choir, University Singers, UTA Symphony Orchestra, and the Children's Choir of Texas.

UTA’s men's tennis team secured a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular season title on Friday at the UTA Tennis Center in a 5-2 win over University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. This is the team’s second consecutive regular season title after winning in the 2023 season.

In honor of Earth Week, on Thursday, April 18, there will be an information session on a project that incorporated four tons of recycled plastic into two parking lots. There will also be a plastic road demonstration at the Earth Day Fair on Tuesday, April 23, starting at 11 a.m. in Brazos Park. The Earth Day Fair will be an opportunity to celebrate our planet and learn about UTA’s efforts to establish a sustainable environment. There will be T-shirts, food trucks, giveaways, activities, and music. Other Earth Week celebrations include a scavenger hunt on Wednesday, April 17, volunteering at a compost site on Thursday, April 18, and bracelet-making on Monday, April 22.

The Office of Sustainability is advancing the Campus Master Plan and the Energy Transition and Resilience Plan. At an open house event 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Red River and Concho rooms in the University Center, faculty, staff, and students will provide feedback on goals and strategies for both plans.

| Research and Innovation Exposition

Faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to the Research and Innovation Exposition on Monday, April 22, at College Park Center. A continental breakfast, lunch, and a closing reception will be included in this all-day event. Speakers will discuss the power of research at UTA and how to make a difference with your research. Online registration is free and open through Thursday, April 18.

Recycle your eclipse glasses

You can turn in undamaged eclipse glasses for recycling or reuse at the information desks at the University Center and The Commons. The University will send the glasses to nonprofit groups for future distribution and use.

| Submit an abstract for UT System's AI symposium
|
Faculty, staff, administrators, students, and trainees are invited to the inaugural UT System AI Symposium in Health Care May 30-31 on the UT Southwestern campus in Dallas, where professionals across various disciplines will come together to share insights and explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Registration is open. The deadline to submit abstracts for presentation is Saturday, April 20.

UTA Wireless Network security enforcement
|
The Office of Information Technology is enabling network security enforcement on all UTA-owned and -managed Windows and Mac devices connected to UTA wireless campus networks. This work is part of the Network Access Control project. Personal devices and home networks will not be affected. Enforcement will be conducted over two dates in April, as outlined in the enforcement schedule. Devices that do not meet security compliance standards will be quarantined and unable to access UTA resources. If your device is impacted, you will receive a pop-up approximately one week in advance.
