Fall 2023 commencement ceremonies will be held Friday, Dec. 15, at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The scheduled start times for each college are listed below.
- 9 a.m. - The colleges of Business, Liberal Arts, and Social Work
- 2 p.m. - The colleges of Education, Engineering, Science, and Honors
- 7 p.m. - College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs, College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and the Division of Student Success

| UTA embraces its Thanksgiving tradition
|
An annual campus-wide Thanksgiving feast brought together more than 1,000 UTA students, faculty, and staff, who shared a meal and gratitude with their fellow Mavericks.

| National AIDS Memorial partners with UTA Libraries
|
A portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed on the sixth floor of UTA Central Library as part of a special exhibit beginning today, Tuesday Nov. 28. To commemorate the opening day of the exhibit, UTA Libraries will host a special event from noon to 2 p.m. University offices and local organizations will have tables set up to provide information about LBGTQ+ history and resources about HIV and AIDS.

The UTA ring ceremony for fall 2023 graduates will be Thursday, Nov. 30, 6-8 p.m. in the Bluebonnet Ballroom of University Center. Mavericks who purchased a Josten's ring will receive their rings on stage and enjoy photo opportunities and a small reception.

Students who demonstrate financial need and cannot afford their cap and gown are encouraged to email eaf@uta.edu to inquire if caps and gowns are available to rent for the graduation ceremony. Cap and gown rentals are available based on donations received.

| Learn the benefits of M.Ed., Ph.D. in educational leadership
|
To learn about earning a master's or doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy studies, attend an informational session Tuesday, Dec. 5, 9-11 a.m. in the Student Congress Chambers of the University Center. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

| Graduate decal drive-thru
|
Commencement is almost here, and it is time to celebrate our graduates! Fall 2023 graduates can drive, walk, or roll by the University Center Circle on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. to receive a free UTA alumni car decal while supplies last. Contact alumni@uta.edu with any questions.

Finals week cookie giveaway
|
The University Center Operations Department is kicking off Finals Week with its annual cookie giveaway, set for Monday, Dec. 4, and Tuesday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Stop by for cookies and hot beverages at The Commons lobby and at the University Center, near the housing office. This is the perfect fuel to prepare you for the last bit of the fall.

MavGrad Celebration, a fun and family-friendly event, is planned for Thursday, Dec. 14, 6-9 p.m. in the Bluebonnet Ballroom of the University Center. UTA’s graduating students will celebrate with their peers, friends, and family. This free event will feature food, drinks, a drone show, live music, photo opportunities, and festive activities.

Members of the U.S. military will conduct training in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area Dec. 4-16, 2023. The training will consist of air and ground mobility operations and may include unoccupied facilities on the UTA campus. This is a planned exercise in cooperation with local authorities and is not in response to any current world events. Safety precautions are in place to protect participants and residents. Planning considerations have included minimizing impact to localities and the campus community.

Congratulations to the UTA Police Department
|
The UTA Police Department has received its sixth Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Award, and for the first time in the department’s history, it has achieved the CALEA Accreditation with Excellence Award. To earn the award, the UTA Police Department had to meet all of the eligibility criteria and submit an application describing how its business model promotes progressive community engagement strategies, uses data as a tool for management decisions, repeatedly uses the accreditation model for outcomes management, and fills a leadership role among peer agencies.
