The Pima County Health Department is dedicated to protecting the public health. As businesses reopen or resume more normal operations, it is imperative that they take measures to protect employees and the public from the spread of COVID-19. The County has adopted a set of minimum protective health and safety measures for restaurants, bars, fitness centers, and hotel and resort pools to follow. Participating businesses have pledged to adhere to these guidelines and are certified for compliance by the Pima County Health Department.

Wear a Mask - It's Required!

Your cloth face covering may protect them. Their cloth face covering may protect you.

The Pima County Board of Supervisors enacted a countywide public health protection resolution on June 19 requiring the wearing of face coverings when in public if 6 feet of physical distancing cannot be maintained. The rule is effective immediately and applies to everyone over the age of 5. Disposable cloth masks can purchased at your neighborhood drug store. Here are a few places downtown offering reusable face masks:

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Pima County, Downtown Tucson Partnership offer two new grants to assist downtown businesses

To help businesses in the downtown Business Improvement District overcome financial, marketing and operational challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Downtown Tucson Partnership has teamed up with Pima County to create the Downtown Outdoor Café Grant and Downtown Rebound Grant Programs.

Both programs are part of a larger partnership with the County’s Back to Business initiative that enables DTP to provide grants to help businesses make the operational and physical changes needed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pima County’s work with DTP will provide a model to be replicated in other areas of the County.
