Welcome to the quick-read summer edition of UNT Weekly! Every Wednesday between now and Aug. 5, you’ll receive a shortened newsletter with important items and sometimes content that’s just for fun! On Aug. 5, our regular UNT Weekly returns to bring you all the news you need this fall.

BIG MOVE

The Diamond Eagle Student Resource Center is moving to a larger home on the UNT campus! The center will be located at 621 S. Welch St., the former Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life building. Fraternity and Sorority Life is now part of the Center for Leadership Development, located in the University Union, Room 335.

Some DESRC programs — the Food Pantry presented by Kroger, the Suit Up and Clothing Closets, and Mean Green Gowns for Grads — are closed for now and are expected to open in their new location Monday, Aug. 3.

This change will provide additional space and create a better experience. During the closure, students can find alternative Denton food resources listed on the Dean of Students website and food resources for the overall North Texas area on the Tarrant Area Food Bank website.

SPOT SURVEYS

Check your student email! The SPOT (Student Perceptions of Teaching) evaluation survey, for students enrolled in Summer 10 Week, 8 Week and 5 Week 2 sessions, is due Thursday, July 23. Complete each survey with honest feedback about your instructors and classes. Your opinion is important.

Not only are course evaluations used to measure teaching effectiveness, but student feedback also provides faculty members with valuable information as they plan and revise their courses.

UNT GO

With less than a month before the fall semester begins, now is the time to make sure you have everything in order. The UNT Go app can make that process a little easier! This app is the one stop for many things you need, from class schedules and a campus map to managing your financial aid and more.

If you haven’t downloaded UNT Go yet, what are you waiting for? Get it in your favorite app store today.

SUMMER RESEARCH

The College of Information is hosting its inaugural Summer Research Day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Discovery Park, Room K150. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about incredible student research and network with your peers, staff and faculty. C heck out the schedule and see who's presenting.
