UTA’s first RISE 100 hire

UTA has made its first hire under the Recruiting Innovative Scholars for Excellence initiative, or RISE 100, bringing to campus a renowned expert in vehicle autonomy who also is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Hongtei Eric Tseng will join the University as a distinguished university professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The Center for Theory's next “Creativity in Academia” colloquium will be at noon Monday, April 15, in Room 432 of University Hall. Natalia Trigo, assistant professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages, will present “Bridging the Gap: Exploring the Synergy Between Creative and Academic Writing.” Trigo will reflect on her experience as a creative writer and scholar to showcase the commonalities between creative and academic writing and how they can mutually enrich one another.

| The College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) recently announced the passing of Dr. Kathryn Daniel, professor of graduate nursing and a beloved friend and colleague.
"Kathy’s storied career and tireless dedication to nursing education leaves an indelible impression on our College, our faculty, and our students. We are eternally grateful she shared her talents with us. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time," said CONHI Dean Elizabeth Merwin.

Interdisciplinary Research Program

Submit a proposal to the 2024 Interdisciplinary Research Program (IRP) by Monday, April 15. The IRP strengthens UTA’s research capacity and fosters new collaborations by supporting research projects between faculty members from different disciplines. Up to $20,000 in funding is offered for each IRP project. Learn more about IRP's purpose and proposal requirements.

Recycle your eclipse glasses
|
You can turn in undamaged eclipse glasses for recycling or reuse at the information desks at the University Center and The Commons. The University will send the glasses to nonprofit groups for future distribution and use.
