Michael Warren’s “Another Round” Music Video Premieres On CMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 15, 2023) — Michael Warren’s music video for “Another Round” made its premiere on CMT Music today.

Warren says, “I’m so thankful for the team at CMT. Their support and the platform they provide is truly incredible especially for new artists. I have to pinch myself; it's always been a dream of mine to have a video on CMT and they're playing two of them! I can hardly believe it."

The “smooth” track that showcases “Warren’s agreeable, unassuming voice” (Billboard), is the second song off the Birmingham-born singer-songwriter’s February 7th debut EP What’s Country To You, produced by Aaron Eshuis (Scotty McCreery, Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd), and earned immediate adds on two playlists at Spotify: New Music Friday Country and Country Frequency.

About Michael Warren:
Michael Warren’s unwavering quest for country music stardom will take him through America’s small and college towns, where he will unquestionably bring new fans into the genre he’s loved since he was a kid growing up outside of Birmingham, AL. After playing more than 200 shows a year for almost a decade and writing songs in Los Angeles for A-listers like Jennifer Lopez and Akon, he found his way back to his home along the Interstate 65 corridor, where he now splits time between Birmingham and Nashville.

Warren’s four-song EP What's Country To You, recorded in Music City, reflects his ability to channel his love of “Southern things” — “faith, family, friends, Bass Pro Shop, football, barbecue, hard work” — into songs that are as danceable in a honky tonk bar as on a Spring Break mix tape. These are not R&B songs that err in the direction of country music via instrumental or production choices. Instead, these are veritable country songs that bear the ability to translate the soulful flourishes from contemporary influences like Jason Aldean, John Mayer, and Rascal Flatts.

Warren reimagines these influences from the perspective of his unique upbringing, which exposed him to equal parts Southern rap icons like Master P, to classics like James Taylor, Bob Marley, and Garth Brooks (who led him to the acoustic guitar). His tastes haven’t deviated much as an adult. His proudly Southern, guitar-loving, rock-ready music fits effortlessly alongside contemporary country artists like Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Darius Rucker.
“Alabama native Warren’s new four-song EP operates along the same country-R&B lines that have made hits for artists like Thomas Rhett and Jimmie Allen. The radio-friendly title track (and Warren’s debut single), written by Dylan Schneider, Zac Kale and Jake Rose, rattles off a list of potential country bona fides and nods to the genre’s expanding boundaries. The EP follows with a trio of equally smooth tracks that showcase Warren’s agreeable, unassuming voice, including the pleasantly romantic ‘Another Round,’ which namechecks Shenandoah, while ‘Chevy Shotgun’ is nostalgic and bittersweet. ‘One Beer at a Time’ blends elements of a soft R&B vibe as he declares he’s ‘gettin’ over you girl/ One beer at a time.’

“The DISCovery award goes to Michael Warren. He’s a Birmingham native who’s written pop tunes for the likes of Toni Braxton, Jennifer Lopez and Akon. But his southern roots shine through on ‘What’s Country to You.’ ... Jaunty and charming. He bops through the countryfied lyric with verve and smiles while the guitars ring and chime. Add this."

"Michael Warren is ready to fight for his place in Nashville: ‘I’m going to represent people that wear cowboy boots and people that don’t wear cowboy boots. 'That’s who I am.’"
People Magazine

"The Alabama native’s distinctive musical talents have already earned him support slots on tour with major acts, including Jake Owen, Zac Brown and Lauren Alaina."
