President Luke Wood begins tenure at Sac State, saying, 'I love this place'
On his first day on campus as president, Luke Wood welcomed new students and their families attending orientation, telling them about his own journey from Sac State student to Sac State leader and encouraging them to never give up on their dreams.
Wood, a two-time alumnus, told the newest members of the Hornet Family that his goal as president is to “create a better overall experience for students,” paving the way for them to get their diplomas and start their careers.
"I’m looking forward to seeing you on campus and shaking your hand as you walk across the stage at Commencement," he said.
On Tuesday, Wood visited several student success centers to meet with students and staff. Among his stops were the Dreamer Resource Center, the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Student Center, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center.
