Dear Alumni and Friends,
As I shared in a recent Instagram post, the Office of the President is serving as gallery space this summer and fall for student artists. The CSU Office of the President Exhibition is the first student art showing in our office suite, and I plan to continue this tradition in the years to come.
What I am most astonished by is the fact that these student artists — many of whom won awards in our Student Art Show — study in a wide range of academic disciplines. Some are students in our Art and Design program, while others study in areas including engineering and history.
In their artistic work, each student artist is using their own perspective to draw visitors’ attention to details that are breathtaking, important or intensely personal. The exhibition includes several portraits and self-portraits, and I notice a new detail each time I look at them. I am encouraged to pause and take another moment to look deeper and discover the things I might have previously looked past.
You are welcome to stop by the President’s Office when you’re in the area and enjoy this impressive display of students talent. You’ll be glad you did!
Regards,
