Though the weather-related news in Southern California as of late has revolved around atmospheric rivers and winter flooding, here at the SoCal Extreme Heat Research Hub we're still hard at work investigating extreme heat.
Since our previous newsletter, we've had several exciting updates, including a new publication, the launch of the "Cooler Communities" curriculum inspired by Heat Hub work, and a poster presentation at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco.
This edition of the SoCal Heat Hub Newsletter also features an in-depth look at how the issues of extreme heat and housing insecurity intersect in the San Diego region, written by our College Corps fellow, Nicole Fassina.
We're excited to share these updates and more in this first newsletter of 2024. We invite you to read on to see what our team members have been working on this winter, and find out more on the SoCal Heat Hub blog, where you can find detailed summaries of all of our news items.
