Important SDS Testing Process Information |
|
|
In Spring 2025, SDS will provide proctoring support for students with approved testing accommodations.
|
-
Students should notify instructors of their accommodations early in the quarter by sending the Faculty Notification Letter via the AIM Student Portal at least 10 days before their first exam/quiz. Those who miss this deadline must contact proctor@uchicago.edu immediately to check SDS availability.
- After sending the letter, students should follow up with instructors to discuss testing arrangements. If an instructor requests SDS proctoring, SDS will schedule exams and notify students via email at least 7 days before the exam. Exam times may differ from the class schedule, so students should carefully review SDS communications.
-
Students can check their scheduled exams in the AIM Student Portal under "Alternative Testing" and view exam locations 2 days before the exam. Directions to SDS testing locations are available on the SDS website.
-
If confirmation is not received at least 6 days before an exam or if there are any questions, students should contact proctor@uchicago.edu immediately.

Emergency Evacuation for Persons with Disabilities |
The University recognizes that individuals with disabilities may require assistance with alerting, evacuating, and sheltering in the event of an emergency. The University therefore asks all individuals who may need assistance in an emergency to self-identify themselves. Once an individual has self-identified, Environmental Health and Safety will work with the individual to develop a personal emergency plan that includes specific evacuation procedures, sheltering procedures, and means of communication in the event of an emergency.
To learn more about emergency procedures for persons with disabilities, please visit the university's evacuation page.
