January Gratitude

A note from Ski & Ride Sr. Manager, Chris Saylor

Well, what a weekend that was! While we saw diminished lesson levels on Saturday, we had enough hearty souls come and ski with us for the day. We saw nearly 40 adults and countless children at Clock tower brave the cold. That day I witnessed all of you provide positive learning outcomes, not easy on such a day. Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend began with a temperature challenge and ended with snow and wind challenges. Thank you all for your hard work this past weekend and all season.

As we move into the second half of the season, we look to continue to expand terrain all the while gaining some daylight. The best is yet to come.

Virtual Town Hall Meeting - Tonight at 5 PM

You are all invited to join a resort-wide virtual Town Hall meeting on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 5:00 – 6:00 PM, led by Bruce and the Okemo Leadership Team. This is a paid town hall and attendance will be taken during the event.

The agenda will include:

Reflections on a challenging early season here at Okemo and across the enterprise

Employee feedback & the Continuous Listening Survey

The how and why of our Advanced Commitment strategy

Gratitude

You may submit questions for the Q&A in advance at this link: Town Hall Questions.

There will also be a live Q&A form in the virtual meeting to submit additional questions.

Upcoming Continuous Listening Survey

Please keep an eye on your inbox on January 26 for the next Continuous Listening Survey from the Vail Resorts team. The survey is open to seasonal employees and we encourage you to participate by responding before February 4 with your honest feedback. This is your chance to share your voice with us and the team at Vail Resorts. Survey data will be used locally and enterprise-wide to implement impactful actions and changes. There's no action required from you yet, but between January 26 and February 4, we look forward to your feedback.

EpicPromise Mountain Madness - Okemo vs. Stowe!

Represent Okemo in Vail Resorts’ second annual Mountain Madness trivia tournament! Get competitive and join in the fun of this virtual trivia tournament.

Every location gets to play at least 3 games, which includes an East vs. West match at the end of the tournament.

In round one we’re taking on Stowe. If we win, we’ll progress to the next round!  If we do not win this first round, don’t worry, we will still have a chance to play and possibly win the Bragger’s Bracket!

Wednesday, February 9
5:30 PM EST
Okemo vs. Stowe

The winning location of the Champions Bracket not only receives bragging rights but will receive a banner to proudly display around their mountain and a trophy!

No pre-registration is necessary; we will provide a game link and tips for gameplay ahead of the event.

Many of you are passionate and active individuals. That’s why we offer several resources to ensure you are able to take care of your body.
