This summer, Cleveland is hosting a surprise visitor — Superman. This past week, a production crew transformed the downtown area into Metropolis for the filming of a new movie, and I'm delighted to see that Aaron Connor, an alumnus and the CSU School of Film and Media Arts' production coordinator, spoke with WKYC Channel 3 about the filming process.
Coincidentally, Dr. Samantha Baskind, our Distinguished Professor of Art, is a scholar on the topic of Superman and his cultural roots in Judaism. Dr. Baskind was also recently honored for her research into Jewish culture and art (which you can read more about below).
This month, we're also highlighting the CSU PD, our own superheroes on campus. I hope you'll watch my interview with Chief Beverly Pettrey and hear about the creative ways they're approaching campus safety.
