Aug X Labs Raises $3.1M to Use AI to Democratize Video Production

Founded by Carnegie Mellon University alumnus Jeremy Toeman, 2023 VentureBridge startup Aug X Labs has raised $3.1M to use AI to democratize video production. The funds will be utilized to expand the team, further develop core technologies, and enhance customer acquisition efforts for its flagship product, Augie, as it prepares to exit beta later this year.

| Duolingo Is Bringing Music Lessons to the Masses
Duolingo is ready for its namesake platform to go up an octave as the Pittsburgh-based company plans to open a waitlist for people to join so they can begin taking music lessons on its flagship app. Duolingo opened the waitlist, initially eligible to people who use iOS devices, during its annual Duocon event on October 11, 2023.

Are you a CMU graduate student interested in being a part of a network of entrepreneurially-minded students and furthering your startup dreams? Then the James R. Swartz Fellows program may be for you. Applications are open for the 2023-25 James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows cohort.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET.
NOTE: Early applications are encouraged. Due to the competitive nature of this program and the limitation of 12-13 slots available, interviews will be based on the strength of the candidate's application and CMU program diversity.
Applications MUST BE FULLY SUBMITTED to be considered.

Startup companies with a founder who is a CMU graduate, undergraduate or alumni is eligible to register for an appointment.
