First Day of School

First week of school has officially begun, and it started off with a bang. On Wednesday, Aug. 14, the day began with an assembly led by Mr. Tappe who spoke about CAC’s mission and how to start the year on the right foot. Chance Riehl, the worship leader from The Summit Church, also led us in worship.

Friday was the start of something new when CAC held its first ever Mustang Mania, which included a school-wide laser tag game and more on the football field. Mustang Mania replaced Mystery on the Mountain from the last few years, which featured a school-wide scavenger hunt game. In addition to laser tag, there was also a bouncy house obstacle course and tic-tac-toe games.

Speak Up — Ryan Rogers

For this week's edition of Speak Up, senior Ryan Rogers shares about his first day as a senior at a new school. Learn more below!

There are many new faces around CAC this year. One of those faces is senior Ryan Rogers. Ryan says that his first day was amazing.

“I met a lot of new people, everybody here is really friendly.”

Ryan said that anytime he might not have had anyone to sit with, somebody came up and started talking to him and introduced themself.

“My favorite class is probably my second period class, College Algebra.”

He says that this class is his favorite because Mrs. Holland (Goody Holland) seems super awesome! Previously, Ryan was homeschooled up until the eighth grade, then he attended Arkadelphia High School. He says that going in there he was really nervous because everyone already had their groups of friends. Ryan says that CAC felt nothing like that.

“Here, I just automatically started talking to people, and I feel like I am closer with people here already.”

Ryan is really excited this year to be on the wrestling team. He says he is really excited to join such a stacked team.

“We have Gus, me, Zane, Damien.” He says his goal is to win a team title.

“The whole entire team is really good, so I think we have a great chance to win state as a team, and hopefully win a bunch of individual championships, too.”
