Hi everyone! My name is Clare Kennedy and I am the Program Manager for Community Partnerships in the Moreau Center. I work with our volunteer programs, Community Service Work Study program, and Plunge Into Your Neighborhood pre-orientation program.
I have been in the Moreau Center for just over a year now and I am so grateful to be able to work with such amazing student leaders and nonprofit partners. I love being able to support students in finding engagement opportunities to fit their unique interests and talents. In my free time, I love to paint and hang out with my dog, Reuben!
If you have any questions about volunteering, CSWS, or are looking for a way to get involved, please contact me at kennedyc@up.edu!

Hey there! I’m Erin, the Program Manager for Immersions here at the Moreau Center. I graduated from the University of Portland in 2015 and couldn’t resist the call of The Bluff—I returned last year to help create amazing experiences for students!
The immersions I participated in as a student were incredibly formative for me, and I feel so lucky to join these trips again, this time as staff. I’m really excited about all 5 of our immersions this year and love collaborating with our brilliant student leaders!
When I’m not planning trips, you can find me hanging out with my cat, crafting (I’m all about collaging, quilting, and printmaking these days), enjoying long walks, or soaking in the beauty of the changing seasons from summer to fall.
Can’t wait to connect with you all and make some unforgettable memories together! You can email me at savoia@up.edu.

This year, the Moreau Center and Student Employment hosted our first every Student Employment and Service Fair! We welcomed our Community Service Work Study nonprofit partners onto campus alongside on campus employers and resources to connect directly with students. 350 students were in attendance and 30 different groups came to connect with students. We are grateful this event was able to connect students directly with employment and volunteer opportunities, and are excited to expand this in the future!

We had a successful Plunge Into Your Neighborhood pre-orientation program this year, welcoming our newest Pilots into community here in Portland! Our students completed 228 hours of service at local organizations such as Our Village Gardens, Holy Cross School, St. Johns Swapnplay, Green Anchors, and Rose Haven. Thank you to all of our partners and a special thank you to Holy Cross School for hosting us! Take a sneak peek into the experience below! Thank you to our student Digital Storyteller, Rowan Lowery, for the video and photos.
