Wellspring Week @ Project Transformation: June 22-25!

This summer, Wellspring is once again partnering with First UMC Georgetown to support Project Transformation—a ministry that connects children, college-age young adults, and churches through meaningful relationships and a shared commitment to literacy.

We’re excited to sponsor June 22–25 as “Wellspring Week,” providing reading buddies and meals (breakfast and lunch) for campers. Whether you can serve during this focused week or at another time this summer, please consider getting involved! Ready to help? Sign up today!

Serve as a Reading Buddy @ FUMC Georgetown
Volunteers read one-on-one with children in 1st–6th grade who are participating in Project Transformation’s summer day camps. It’s a simple and meaningful way to build relationships and support a child’s confidence in reading. Please note: a background check and abuse prevention training are required.

Calling All Crocheters! Our Prayer Shawl Team Needs You!

Our Congregational Care Ministry is forming a new team to crochet prayer shawls and pocket prayer squares for our members who are going through times of grief or illness
and might need a little extra love. No matter your skill level or age, you can be a part of this new ministry! Did you know that some of our younger members are crocheting prayer squares during our second service in the pray-ground? If you don’t know how to crochet, we’ll be happy to give you lessons. This is something we can do together, or you can do in your home on your own time schedule. You can provide a reminder of
the love of God to our church family members by wrapping them up in a crocheted hug! To learn more, contact Pam Riggs at 512-680-6644 or priggs1@flash.net .

Are you interested in joining Wellspring as a member of this faith community? Come to the new member class to learn more about Wellspring, United Methodism, and next steps for joining. Please RSVP to let us know you plan to attend.

Sunday, June 14 @ 10am       Room 107

Church Management System Update

We’ve begun the transition from ShelbyNext to our new church management system, Realm. As part of this process, please stop using ShelbyNext for all activities except online giving. Any updates or check-ins made in the app during this time will not be recorded.

A new link for Sunday attendance will be shared soon, and online giving will continue through ShelbyGiving for now. Those with recurring gifts will receive instructions once Realm is fully up and running.

We’re planning training sessions in July to help everyone get familiar with Realm’s more user-friendly system—watch for upcoming dates.

Thank you for your patience during this transition. For financial questions, contact Sarah Stowell at finance@wellumc.org. For other questions, reach out to Sue Kerr at admin@wellumc.org.

“Check Your Surroundings”
Matthew 15:1-9, A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church by Wilda Gafney
Jesus challenges us to be welcoming as a congregation - to really think about what it takes for people in our community to do everything that is required for them to walk into our building or engage with us elsewhere. In order to not be hypocritical, we must think about how to welcome them as they are.
