NEWS FROM PLAYtime!
Have you seen PLAYtime around town this summer? We have been hard to miss with our summer fun series! Whether it be PLAYtime at your school playground, PLAYtime at the market, PLAYtime at Kindergarten orientation, PLAYtime at open house…we have been spreading literacy one story at a time! And there is still an opportunity to catch a few more stories because PLAYtime will be at the Zoo on Friday, September 15; at Goodell Gardens in Edinboro on Sunday, September 17; and at the SSJN Farmer’s Market on Monday, September 25!
But PLAYtime doesn’t stop there! September means a new school year for PLAYtime in Erie, and we couldn’t be more excited! After hiring 4 new staff, our team of 7 facilitators and the PLAYtime Coordinator have been workshopping new materials getting ready for a full schedule starting at the end of the month.
Fun fact: 7 facilitators will deliver shared reading times weekly to 157 classrooms!
This year we have 9 preschool sites plus all the United Way community schools. Over 2200 children WEEKLY! Using the arts, we bring stories to life in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms in our community, and we leave books on their shelves to continue that special book connection.

Much more in the coming months including a chance to get to know each of our new facilitators!
