New MBB Coach
New Men's Basketball Coach
Thunderbird Athletics has named Rob Jeter as our new men's basketball coach. Coach Jeter comes to SUU from Western Illinois, and brings more than 25 years of coaching experience and seven NCAA Tournament appearances. His previous stops include the University of Minnesota, UNLV, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

New Dean of Education & Human Development
New College Dean
Dr. Pamela J. Powell has been named dean of the Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education and Human Development, and will begin her appointment here on July 1. Dr. Powell comes from Northern Arizona University where she serves as associate dean and associate professor of education. Before entering higher-ed, Dr. Powell was an elementary education teacher for twenty-two years.

Student Health Clinic
Student Health Clinic Now Open on Campus
A new on-campus student health clinic opened its doors on March 13, in the Bennion Building. SUU is partnering with FourPoints Health to oversee the clinic and medical care, and provide students with walk-in treatment; no appointments required.

New SUU Police Chief
New SUU Police Chief
After a nationwide search, Carlos Medina was named SUU's chief of police. Chief Medina has more than a decade of experience with SUU Police, and has worked as a corrections officer with Iron County and later moved to Cedar City Police. He has served as a self-defense instructor, SWAT team member, among other roles.

Flippin' Birds Coaching Staff Honored by WCGA
The Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association has named Scotty Bauman the Region 2 Coach of the Year, and Jeff Richards and Jamie Wysong as Co-Assistant Coaches of the Year. Congratulations to our Flippin' Birds Coaching Staff!
