February Email Newsletter 2026

Summer Camp 2026 is right around the corner. There is a lot happening to get the camp ready for another camp season:

- Camp Books - Getting delivered to our supporting churches

- Website - Getting the website updated for summer camp 2026

- Registration - Setting up the registration system to kick-off on March 1st

- Theme & Lessons - Camp committee is working on lesson ideas for our theme: Plugged In - Romans 1:16

- Faculty - Event Coordinators are recruiting volunteers for camp sessions

- Facilities - Preparing dorms, gym, chapel, dining hall, back property.

- Finances - We are raising money for camper scholarship. We help several families that need the support to help pay for their kids to come to camp. We like to have about $10,000 on hand by May to help families. We have $3,200 at this time.

As you can see, we are preparing for summer camp 2026. This involves a combination of spiritual and physical readiness. If you have a desire to help us get ready for summer camp 2026, please let us know.

Our NEW Summer Camp Theme for 2026!

REGISTRATION BEGINS MARCH 1ST

From the Program Director:

We are so excited for Summer 2026! Our camp theme for the summer is “Plugged In: Connecting to the True Power Source". Our camp committee chose this theme because kids are getting plugged into so many other things (Sports, school, social media, & so much more). We want to help them unplug from all of those things & connect back into the true power source. Our verse for the summer is Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew then to the Gentile.”

There are a few changes we wanted to make people aware of for this upcoming summer. Our Horse camps are moving to weekends only (Please see attached schedule for dates). The Horse camps will now be girls only. Our paintball camps will be boys only as well.

Registration for summer camp starts March 1st with Early Bird pricing. On May 31st it will move to regular pricing where the price will increase for all camps. Please be sure to register as soon as possible because camps do fill up fast!

We are so excited for summer 2026 & what the Lord will do at Hanging Rock this summer. Please be praying for the camps & all the campers that will come this summer!

Kitchen Update!

From the Associate Director:

We are super excited to be starting the process of remodeling the kitchen. We started with raising the floor in the dry storage area. A huge thanks to Jim Newlin and Casey Isdell for getting that completed so quickly. It has already been a blessing not having to walk down the ramp to get food from there. I am meeting soon with our Buildings and Grounds committee to plan the next phases of the remodel and work with contractors to get those completed.

With summer camp quickly approaching, I am looking for some new menu options to add to the summer camp menu. If you have any ideas, feel free to send them to me at toddblair@HangingRock.org. It can be main dishes, sides, or desserts. I am always looking at new things to possibly add to the menu here at camp. Also, if you are wanting to volunteer in the kitchen reach out to me as well, and I will let you know what the needs are. It could be just a day or two here and there, or a certain day each week. Whatever works best for you I will take all the volunteers I can get to help make sure the campers, staff, and faculty are well fed this summer. It takes a lot of work to prepare the food, so all help is much appreciated.
