STATIC is hosting its annual cookout on Saturday, May 3, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Join us for free food and fun at the HUB!

Looking for a cozy night in before finals begin? Join us for a screening of The Outsiders in the HUB Ohio Room on May 5 at 6:00 p.m. This is an excellent chance to relax, recharge, and unwind while supporting IUP students. We’ll have popcorn, drinks, and Dippin’ Dots (while supplies last), so wear your PJs, bring a blanket, and settle in for a night of comfort, snacks, and giving back!
Admission is a $3+ donation to the Student Assistance Fund or a $3+ donation/nonperishable item for the IUP Food Pantry. This event is hosted by the Student Giving Committee.

Ándale is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Festival on May 7 at 6:00 p.m. The festival will celebrate dance and music with a live DJ, refreshments, and history about Cinco de Mayo. All are invited to this free event in Jane Leonard Hall, B02.

Due to an ongoing Peoples Natural Gas project, traffic delays in the area of Wayne Avenue, between Locust Street and Maple Street, are continuing. Access to campus via Grant Street and Violi Way is currently closed. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the congested construction area. Construction is active Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is not expected to affect IUP commencement on May 10.

Finals are here, and keeping your sanity is key! Engage in all the fun de-stress activities for relaxing and calming vibes. All are invited to this free event designed to provide you with some much-needed stress reduction during this busy time of the semester. Check out some of the activities available on Tuesday, May 6, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Folger Student Center. There will be therapy dogs, chair massages, tarot card readings, snacks, and much more!

Make sure you are utilizing all of the resources available to you here at IUP. For example, the CPDC has two completely customized professional online tools: a D2L Career Readiness Tool and Articulate Site, both of which aim to assist students in achieving their professional goals.

May 7 marks the centennial of the first planetarium opened to the public (in Munich, Germany). Join this free event on May 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cejka Planetarium (Kopchick Hall, second floor lobby) to learn more about planetariums, as well as recent discoveries from the Webb space telescope and the Bennu asteroid sample return.
