Portals & Tektites
Josh first created Tektite Glass about forty years ago by replicating the mineral and metallic components of an actual glass meteorite - a small black lump - that the editor of "Sky & Telescope" magazine had given him. This resulting uncooperative glass cools into a lava-like carapace.
For Josh, the real challenge (and the most fun) is to contrast this gnarly material with the colorful and flawless glass he uses for his other work. The result: Tektites, Tektite Portals, and Smooth Portals, all inspired by a little piece of the sky that piqued Josh's imagination a lifetime ago.
