Abridge Continues Expanding, Partners with Texas-based Health Service Provider

Abridge recently announced an enterprise-wide agreement with CHRISTUS Health, an international, not-for-profit health system based in Texas with 15,000 physicians and more than 600 care centers. With Abridge’s generative AI solution for clinical documentation in use over the last few months, CHRISTUS clinicians have already experienced a significant reduction in burnout and now give more undivided attention to patients. Abridge is co-founded by Carnegie Mellon University alumnus Shiv Rao, CEO.

Duolingo Celebrates First Refugee Learners At
'We Rise Together' Gala 


Duolingo, known for its fun approach to language eduation, recently celebrated a more profound kind of education: one offered for the first time to refugees around the world. Dozens of university leaders from across the U.S. recently gathered at Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh to honor educators who are expanding access and equity. The fourth annual “We Rise Together” awards celebrated 25 refugee students who recently completed their first year in universities, thanks to a program Duolingo launched in 2022 to provide mentorship and support.

2024-26 Innovation Scholars Summer Internship Updates
Newly accepted Innovation Scholars and rising juniors Erika Ramirez, ECE and Audrey Hasson, SCS, will be sharing their innovative ideas and skills over the summer with some pretty impressive companies.

Erika has just announced that she will be joining SpaceX Starlink as a Silicon Engineering Intern. As a part of team, she will contribute to the cutting-edge development of silicon technologies on Starlink and gain invaluable experience. Audrey has joined 1486 Labs in Pittsburgh, an entrepreneurial lab revolutionizing how you buy and use data, as a Product Developer. 1486 Labs is an entrepreneurial lab working with Pitt Business to launch new businesses based on the intersection of data and analytics.

The students in the cohort are eligible to request a $6K stipend to work on their own startup over the
summer of 2025.
