Merry Christmas, St. Lukers!
Are you still singing “Do a Little Good” after Christmas Eve? I hope so. I hope you’ve found yet again this Christmas the reminder of the meaning of the season – to remind us of the way that God came down to be among us, showing us what we are here to do in our own lives and our world as well.
This year, our Sunday after Christmas falls on New Year’s Eve. It’s that day that always seems like it’s on the brink of something new, of something better, of the possibility for all those things we talked about during Advent – hope, peace, joy, and love. But let’s not forget Pastor Jenn’s Christmas Eve reminder that transformation doesn’t happen in a moment, but in how all the “little” bits of good we choose for ourselves and for our world come together over time.
This Sunday, we’re going to have some fun together in worship – we’re going to sing Christmas carols and talk about “the rest of the story” – a few years later when the Magi with gifts follow a star to find their way to Jesus as a young child.
