Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture
Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture
Zonnie Gorman, a recognized historian of Navajo Code Talkers of World War II, will present the 2024 Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, March 12, as part of our 2024 SUU Founders Celebration. The lecture will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Gilbert Great Hall, Hunter Alumni Center, and is free and open to all.

Giving Thor's-Day
Our inaugural "Giving Thor's-Day" is almost here, and we invite you to participate in a day that will make a positive impact on our alma mater. It starts Wednesday, March 27, at Noon and will run for 1,897 minutes (32 hrs.). Join us in shaping the future of SUU.

Indoor Championship Win
Thunderbird Men Win WAC Championship
With a dominant performance at the 2024 WAC Indoor Championship last month in Albuquerque, New Mexico, our men's team claimed the WAC Championship putting up 71.5 more points than second-place teams Grand Canyon University and UT Arlington.

Indoor Track National Qualifiers
Davis and Labra Qualify for National Meet
The NCAA announced its field for the NCAA Division I Indoor Nationals, and two of our Thunderbirds made the cut. Senior Astley Davis qualified in the triple jump and sophomore distance runner Isaiah Labra in the mile. The National Meet takes place in Boston beginning tomorrow March 7, and wraps up Saturday, March 9.

Kevin Stein
Fulbright Specialist Award
Dr. Kevin Stein has received a Fulbright Specialist Award to consult as an expert in communication and journalism at the Universidad de Murcia in Spain. His project aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through education and training.

T-Birds at the Ballpark
Join Us at the Ballpark
We invite you to join your Thunderbird family for a night at the ballpark in both Las Vegas and Salt Lake City this coming June. Our Las Vegas ballgame takes place on Friday, June 14, and our Salt Lake City game is Saturday, June 22. Both games include dinner, game ticket, and fireworks show. We hope to see you!

Trumpet Ensemble
Ensemble Advances at National Competition
The SUU Trumpet Ensemble secured a coveted spot in the quarter-finals of the 2024 National Trumpet Competition at Texas A&M Kingsville School of Music March 8-11. The ensemble soared into the top 40 of all ensemble entries submitted.

March 12: Las Vegas Networking Lunch, noon to 1 p.m. at the Park MGM Hotel at 3770 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Athletic Director Doug Knuth will be our guest speaker, and this lunch coincides with the WAC Basketball Tournament. Lunch provided by SUU Athletic. Please RSVP here. 
April 25-26: SUU Commencement. To see the full schedule, including times for individual College Degree Convocations, click here. 
June 14: SUU Night at the Aviators. Enjoy a night at the Las Vegas Ballpark with dinner, game ticket, and fireworks. Purchase your tickets now!
