New year new crew!

We're excited to introduce the new staff members of The Pony Press Vol. 3. Each member will have many assigned roles to ensure that The Press will have good content all semester long. As Editor-In-Chief, senior Solomon Barnes will lead the staff each week and oversee their progress in addition to helping out with writing and directing digital design. Juniors Emma Milam and Lilly Garner will be responsible for interviewing students and staff for the main stories in each issue. Our videographers are juniors Petyon Baker and Jordan Kasinger. Their job is to document our school's activities and events through videos and photos. Junior Naomi Hyatt will serve The Press as assistant editor. Her job will be to track progress and engagement in every issue to help improve and plan for content each week. Our staff is led by Mrs. Owens and (new to Vol. 3) Coach D! We're excited to tell stories this year. Let one of us know if you have any questions, feedback or ideas!

Mustang Moment

[Photos by Peyton Baker] On Friday, Jan. 5 in the middle of 3rd period, we all got to enjoy a winter surprise — a snow fall! We weren't quite prepared for the weather, but that didn't stop some of us from rushing outside to enjoy the scene and maybe throwing a snowball or two [see. below].

Speak Up — Jacob Henry

On this week's edition of Speak Up, we interviewed sophomore Jacob Henry on his New Years resolution and how he plans to maintain it throughout the year. His resolution is to be an encouraging person and a role model to those younger than him. “I want to lift up those who look up to me, starting at school.” Jacob plans on doing this by being kinder to everyone around him and hopes others will follow. He wants to reflect God in the way he acts, and he wants to be more God-fearing. Jacob also said he wants to be the kind of guy a parent let their daughter date.

Pony Press Olympics

For the upcoming 2024 Olympic year held in Paris, France, we wanted to celebrate our own community through friendly competition. In a new section of each issue, we will hold The Pony Olympics. The Pony Olympics will features random events/challenges every other week. The competitions will be 1v1, and each person will be chosen at random — staff and students. Each person chosen will represent their grade. At the end of they year, the grade with the most points will receive an award. Keep your eyes on Vol. 3 of The Pony Press to follow all the Olympic action.
