Melina Mueller

Melina has won the Quesenberry Award.  The Lisa M. Quesenberry Scholarship was established by Irvin and Mary Ann Quesenberry and Kathryn Quesenberry to memorialize the accomplishments of their daughter and sister, Lisa M. Quesenberry. The scholarship is designed to provide research or study awards to motivated graduate students studying psychology at Vanderbilt University. Congrats Melina!  Read More...

Allie Adamis 

Allie has won the Vanderbilt Award for Doctoral Discovery.  The College of Arts and Science Vanderbilt Award for Doctoral Discovery (VADD), previously named the Summer Research Award (SRA) program, is designed to help graduate students with outstanding potential to accelerate progress on their research. VADDs provide funding to support student research at conferences, archives, or at collaborating institutions. Awarded funding could be used for research expenses related to the doctoral thesis, other advanced research projects, or scholarly activities that significantly advance professional development. VADDs are granted on a competitive basis. Congrats Allie! More Here...

Celebrating A Great Career: Jon Kaas Festschrift 

Our Department and the Vanderbilt Brain Institute celebrated Jon Kaas on April 12th, with a whole day symposium of esteemed scholars, long-term friends, local colleagues, and Jon’s extended family. Speakers of the symposium highlighted the personal growth and encouragement they experienced while working with Jon. Leading his team of curious researchers, Jon identified some of the foundations of cortical organization in brains of many species, defining and discovering new cortical areas, and paving the way for a deep understanding of the evolutionary cornerstones of brain organization across species. Jon Kaas is widely recognized for his prolific and substantial contributions to science, earning him membership in the esteemed U.S. National Academy of Science and some of neuroscience’s most treasured awards. Yet, the day was punctuated less by the formal accolades and more by the personal stories and fateful moments of mentorship and friendship spanning decades as a researcher. Read More...
